ASCAME Online BSO Management Academy - 2020: Time to act, stronger together - Fostering MED Business development through The potential of ASCAME's Network and Women Empowerment in the Digital World

19/11/2020

In the framework of EBSOMED project and the MedaWeek Barcelona 2020, ASCAME is organising the Online BSO Management Academy "2020: Time to act, Stronger Together - Fostering MED Business development through The potential of ASCAME's Network and Women Empowerment in the Digital World" to be held on November 19 & 20, 2020.

The MedaWeek Barcelona 2020 will be inspired by the 25th Anniversary of the Barcelona Process for the regional integration of the Mediterranean region along with more than 15 forums on a wide variety of topics where the private sectors and the BSOs from both shores of the Mediterranean region will be the main protagonists. Attending to this EBSOMED activity you will have access to this three-day online event in which you will be able to connect and learn from outstanding speakers across the region.

This academy will include two separate sessions:

  • 19 November 2020 (17H30-19H00 ) - The potential of ASCAME’s network projects in the post COVID economic recovery: This session aims to put in evidence this great potentiality to the service of ASCAME members network and bring together some representatives of these projects, which work aligned with strategic key sectors and cross-cutting issues that the Mediterranean Association considers essential for the economic recovery of the region. The sectors are innovation, sustainability, blue economy, agrifood, tourism, green SMEs, and business alliances.
During this session, speakers will present these initiatives in first person and how they can contribute to the recovery of the Mediterranean main sectors in the post-pandemic scenario. In addition, this panel is a great opportunity to get inspired and benefit from the hundreds of actions that are going to be carried out in this line from now to 2023. There is no question, that this session will be very practical and will cover and unveil very important initiatives that have a great potential to boost the economic recovery of the Mediterranean region
  • 20 November 2020 (10H00-11H30) - Incorporation of women entrepreneurs in the digital economy "Women Entrepreneurs: Impact of The Pandemic on Mediterranean Businesses": Women have been in the front line during COVID-19 in different positions, affected and greatly burdened by the lack of decision-making structures. Inclusion should take the form of meaningful participation and leadership by women in all decision-making processes to address the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as in planning actions to be taken in the short term. As the COVID-19 crisis unfolds, we must continue supporting meaningful work of women, as agent of change at the local level is key. Community networks established during consolidation efforts can be powerful in shaping the design and implementation of community engagement around COVID-19.
As new business models emerge and cash positions remain cautious, companies will look to technology capabilities and functionalities that directly impact business objectives. Capacities should be based on consumption so that costs are represented once the company reaches benefits. For all these reasons, the XII MedaWomen Entrepreneurs Forum intends to address some of these social and technological changes to all companies and organizations led by women. Some of the points to be discussed will be:
    • Analysis of the current situation of businesswomen in the Mediterranean.
    • Best practices for women in business for this COVID-19 period
    • Digitization as a new way of working tool.
