In the framework of EBSOMED, BUSINESSMED in cooperation with CONFINDUSTRIA organise the Business Matchmaking Forum "Med Business Days 2020 - Business operators’ role in boosting economic Diasporas in the Mediterranean". Taking place in Milan on 27th and 28th February 2020, the event will gather a delegation of more than 80 Economic Operators: Southern Neighborhood Countries and Europe’s brightest entrepreneurs, startups, Business Leaders of SMEs, BSOs representatives with a focus on Mashreq countries.

The EBSOMED matchmaking event will be hosted by CONNEXT2020. Thematic panels and B2B meetings organized between Italian, European and Mediterranean companies will be arranged.   

The kick off of the event will be arranged jointly with the CONNEXT 2020. Following the opening, the first day of the event will be structured around 4 main drivers and namely:

  • Renewable Energy
  • Agri-Food industry
  • Digital and ICT sector
  • Infrastructure sector

The different sessions will provide an insight into the Mediterranean markets and their specifications by outlining the expertise and attractiveness of the region in terms of investments and sustainable partnerships.

The thematic sessions will present a unique platform for investments and access to finance further to the opportunities to exchange with experts on the tackled sectors. Following each session, recommendations will be formulated and shared.

During the second day, the Business Country Desk platform will be launched combining a vibrant marketplace with space for networking and brokerage, as well as interactive sessions on the services offered.

Up to 200 pre-booked B2B meetings are expected giving opportunities to talk with representatives from startups, corporates and investors, receiving advice on market development and access to foreign markets.

Event Background

Countries all over the world have placed digital transformation at the top of their agenda. Mashreq countries have developed strategies to drive digitalisation across all sectors of society, including governance, business and value chains. The region’s sweeping interest in digitalisation, particularly in the commercial sector, is driven in part by the economic realities that are calling some of the established business models into question. Emerging challenges and opportunities of the sector across the Euro-Mediterranean Region will be addressed. A focus will be dedicated to debates on sustainable partnerships as strategic instrument for Mashreq area.

The quality of life and safeness of future generations are strongly intertwined with the availability of energy sources and the sustainability of the energy infrastructure. The event will address trends on renewable energy markets and provide an international business and partnership platform by highlighting attractive investment opportunities in the sector. Private and public sector players will be engaged for networking, dialogue and knowledge exchange to scale-up the use of renewable energy for sustainable growth.

The event will provide a combination of in-depth panel and discussions with key business leaders and pioneers, while providing business space for networking and business-to-business exchanges with companies from the entire Agrifood supply chain. The agri-food business is one of the most productive, sustainable and profitable sectors and MED BUSINESS DAYS 2020 will size the privilege opportunity to bring economic operators together on a common platform to discuss current and future aspects where agri-food industry goes digital and smart solutions are developed.

Key players in the infrastructure field will take the opportunity to explore themes laid out in the Infrastructure sector across the Region. The event will be a unique platform and opportunity to discuss priorities representing the views and interests of the industry. The biggest and best in infrastructure: partners, SMEs, synergies can be created through dynamic and informative conversation in an open knowledge-sharing environment.

Med Business Days 2020 is open business days to all companies in the target sectors. A maximum of 5 business meetings per company will be scheduled.
