16/11/2020

As part of a cycle of webinars on “Building back resilience” implemented in the framework of EBSOMED project and Considering the important role that social dialogue plays for the Mediterranean social model and its impact on the achievement of the SDGs, BUSINESSMED is organising the Online BSO Management Academy "Correcting Labour Market Imbalances and Promoting Employment and Employability through Social Dialogue between Employers’ and Trade Union Organisations" to be held on November 16, 2020.

Robust social dialogue is important to come to terms with complex societal challenges and promote inclusive growth, as highlighted in the OECD Framework for Policy Action on Inclusive Growth.

The Union for Mediterranean – UfM, is actively working to promote social dialogue across the Mediterranean. At the heart of this effort is the ‘Social Dialogue Fora’, a joint endeavour aims to further strengthen social dialogue in the Region.

The Third Social Dialogue Forum ended with the adoption of conclusions, on 11 October 2017, in which they called on Ministers to fulfill their commitment in their Declaration of the Employment and Labour Ministerial Conference, to boost the capacity of social partners’ organizations, institutions, as well as the culture of social dialogue, by developing sound dialogue practices.

The South Mediterranean Social Dialogue, SOLiD is the pilot Regional programme aiming to strength Dialogue Capacity among the Social partners, Civil Society and Governments and set up an institutionalized Social Dialogue in SNC. The project resulted in the signature of the “SOLiD’s charter” by the governmental representatives of the three targeted countries of the project in the margin of the UfM Ministerial Policy Conference “Jobs, Skills and Opportunities for All”.
