30 Women and Youth-led BSOs of the Southern Neighbourhood region trained on Cybersecurity

15/09/2021

In the framework of EBSOMED, CAWTAR organised in collaboration with Womenpreneur-Initiative the webinar Academy “Cybersecurity for BSOs” on 15 September 2021.

BSOs staff were taught how to strengthen their capacity in terms of data confidentiality, safe management, storage, and transactions. The target group, Business Support Organisations focusing on women, is not spared by cyberattacks but is still very much unprepared. Therefore, it was essential to raise their knowledge so that they can prevent and protect themselves from data breach, malware and other ill-intended online actions.

The activity provided the participants with quality, concrete and easy-to-grasp knowledge to better manage their organisation and improve the qualities of services provided to their members. The session painted the picture of cybersecurity nowadays and developed 6 themes that are at the core of cybersecurity: essential concepts; current cyberthreat landscape; vulnerabilities; actors of Cybersecurity; The prevention, response, and recovery; and finally, the future of cybersecurity through innovation.

Since the COVID crises, the EBSOMED academies are adapting the format and the learning approaches to be more concrete and to respond to the needs of the beneficiaries during this particular period.
