The economic recovery in the Mediterranean at the heart of the objectives of EBSOMED

2/12/2021

Within the framework of the EBSOMED project, BUSINESSMED organized on December 2 and 3, a business forum entitled Med Business Days. The event, organized in cooperation with CONFINDUSTRIA, took place on the sidelines of CONNEXT 2021 in Milan and had as its theme: The role of economic operators in the economic recovery of the Mediterranean.

This Forum, which brought together Euro-Mediterranean economic operators between support organizations and SMEs, focused on their respective roles in stimulating economic recovery in the Mediterranean region. The event took the form of expert panels around four topical topics, namely renewable energy, smart cities, digital transformation, and skills mismatch in the labour market.

The different sessions gave an overview of the Mediterranean markets and their specificities by highlighting the expertise and attractiveness of the region in terms of investments and sustainable partnerships.

“This forum is a networking opportunity focused on the key drivers of economic and sustainable development where companies can play a leading role. As an organization that brings together employers, BUSINSSMED always strives to organize actions in the Mediterranean region to bring private sector actors to do business with each other. Our strength is that we bring together the business sector in Europe as well as their counterparts of the southern shore of the Mediterranean ... For this event we have worked to bring a maximum of our members from the South of the Mediterranean, as well as business executives and entrepreneurs from the region who are interested in doing business; it is an opportunity for them to have a stand on site and meet with entrepreneurs from different countries in the region” said the director of the project EBSOMED and Secretary General of BUSINESMED, Ms. Jihen Boutiba.

The second day was devoted to the organization of B2B meetings, offering startups, companies and investors the opportunity to exchange and develop partnerships to facilitate access to foreign markets.
