ANIMA Labelling Southern BSOs' Services Workshop - Coordinated strategies to drive investments towards sustainable development

28/04/2020

In the framework of EBSOMED, ANIMA Investment Network implemented a series of Online Workshops on Labelling Southern BSOs’ Services “Coordinated strategies to drive investments towards sustainable development”. The webinars took place between the 28, 29 & 30 April and May 5th 2020 and aimed to present and design the Impact Invest initiative.

The health crisis that has been raging since the beginning of 2020 has shown the fragility of the organization of societies, the health system and the social protection, and has highlighted the limits of the production and economic development models in force in most of the countries of the Euro med region.

The Impact Invest initiative contributes practically to the reflections on the alternative development models emerging around the Mediterranean: it aims at developing mechanisms to align business efforts with SDGs and maximize their positive impacts.

The opening webinar was open to the public and focused on introducing the initiators of Impact Invest and their intentions. Public decision-makers, investor representatives, business networks, regional development agencies and OSE representatives presented their views and current commitments prior to the presentation of the Impact Invest roadmap.

Three collective intelligence workshops were then organized during which small groups of partners worked and designing the instruments and tools of the Impact Invest initiative’s action plan.

The series of webinars will be followed by a conclusive workshop in late 2021, which will seek to focus more broadly on seeking new models of development in the Mediterranean. Impact Invest aims at developing investments which contribute to sustainable development and generate positive impacts in the Mediterranean countries and beyond.
