The EBSOMED Project Secretariat organised the fourth meeting of the project’s Executive Committee on 20 December 2019 in Brussels, to review the actions held during 2019 and the overall progress of the project.

A large part of the day was also dedicated to the presentation of the 2020 action plan and discussions were made on how to achieve the sustainability and effectiveness of the project through future activities.

The secretariat also presented the latest advances on the Business Country Desk and the project’s Mobile app, two new tools that will be launched in early 2020 on the margins of key events.

Ingrid Schwaiger and  Heinke Veit, from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations in the Southern Mediterranean Neighbourhood Countries, took part in this meeting to discuss the strategies and contributions of the European Union in the programmes and projects for the Southern Neighbourhood Region and to outline the dimensions of the EU approach to economic development of the region.
