EBSOMED Successful Training on Developing EC Project Proposals and Closing EC Projects

18/01/2023

In the framework of the EBSOMED project, BUSINESSMED conducted from the 18th to the 20th January 2023,   a training aimed at refreshing the knowledge of the participants on the tools to develop a solid project proposal for the European Commission (EC) and providing an overview of what to expect in 2023 regarding NDICI (INTPA/NEAR) fundings of interest for BUSINESSMED. The training also aimed at improving the participants' skills and attitudes towards monitoring, evaluating and closing EC funded projects.

The participants had the opportunity to understand the importance of the logical framework matrix in monitoring and evaluating EC funded projects. They learned what grant beneficiaries need to do when closing an EC funded project, in compliance with the applicable PRAG. In addition, the participants were able to find and understand the information on EC calls for proposals published in the Europeaid website and master the way to fill-in adequately the different parts of the Concept Note and the Full application when applying for an EC call for proposals.

In terms of skills, the participants learned how to use the key project management tools used in monitoring and evaluating an EC project such as the logical framework matrix and the monitoring matrix. They also learned about the elements necessary for closing an EC project.

By the end of the training, the participants were aware of the upcoming NEAR/INTPA calls of interest for BUSINESSMED in 2023 and felt confident when answering to them. The participants were conscious of the practical steps to take in view of the future closure of their EC project.

Overall, the training was a great success, and the participants left with a deeper understanding of developing EC project proposals and closing EC projects. BUSINESSMED is committed to providing its members and staff with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed, and this training was a testament to that commitment.
