In the framework of the EBSOMED project, ASCAME organised in Barcelona on 21 and 22 November, on the sidelines of Medaweek 2019, a BOS Management Academy under the theme “Support and Improve the Quality of BSO & Promote BSO Networking”.
The event brought together representatives of Mediterranean business women’s organisations to share best practices, experiences and future opportunities for promoting entrepreneurship, digitisation, new digital skills, as well as access to funding for organisations and their members.
Speaking during the first day, María Helena de Felipe, President of Afaemme, said: « We have a duty to spread what is functioning in each of our respective organisations. This an opportunity to share best practices on regional programmes & processes to support Mediterranean women entrepreneurs & creative women».
Nadine Kilani, project officer at BUSINESSMED, presented the "Employers' Thematic Committees", another instrument of the EBSOMED project and in particular the Committee on Women’s Empowerment, which aims to support women entrepreneurship and promote the representation of women in the Mediterranean economic ecosystem. She also announced the future publication of the commission’s report and explained how this type of publication can enrich exchanges during future events on the same theme.
During the different panels of the second day, the academy gathered a selection of competent Mediterranean women entrepreneurs in the SME sector to express concrete propositions accelerating the growth of women-owned businesses via access to information, contacts & capital.
