In the framework of the EBSOMED project, ASCAME, the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry, spearheaded a remarkable initiative that brought together multiple EBSOMED project instruments and also synergies with other projects to create the ASCAME Community Week (ACW). This four-day celebration marked a significant milestone for ASCAME and its members, uniting chambers of commerce from across the Mediterranean to promote collaboration, exchange best practices, and drive business excellence.

The ACW welcomed an international delegation comprising chambers of commerce and companies, representing a diverse range of Mediterranean countries. This unique gathering provided participants with the opportunity to engage in fruitful business interactions, expand their professional networks, and explore the latest innovation trends shaping the Mediterranean business landscape.

The event kicked off with a training academy around the newly created EBSOMED label where members had the chance to enhance their service portfolios and forge synergies to drive growth , covering a wide array of topics including best practices for chambers, open innovation networks for knowledge transfer, digital tools for B2B interactions, resource efficiency, entrepreneurship hubs in the Chambers 4.0 era, and cross-border investment opportunities. The training was delivered by TOBB from Turkye who have a solid expertise in the mater for more then 20 years.

The attendees received participation certificate, recognizing their chambers' proactive steps in staying at the forefront of industry advancements.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the ACW was the Mediterranean Business-to-Business (B2B) session, held at the esteemed Barcelona Chamber of Commerce. This session started with a presentation of the Business Country Desk a matchmaking tool developed through the project then the companies and the chamber of commerce met to connect and form potential partnerships across countries and sectors.

To inspire and inform participants, ASCAME strategically organized exchange visits to prominent local institutions, including the Barcelona Port and the Barcelona Health Hub. These visits showcased success stories, enabling members to identify synergies, acquire practical know-how, and uncover prospects for business expansion. As part of the comprehensive ACW program, the invited chambers of commerce and their associated companies also had the opportunity to participate in the SIL (International Logistics and Transport Exhibition), one of the largest fairs in the industry. This engagement allowed them to connect with potential customers, engage with industry peers, and gain valuable insights into the ever-evolving logistics and transport sector.

The ASCAME Community Week, made possible by the synergies and collaboration within the EBSOMED project, proved to be an extraordinary platform for fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and forging lasting connections within the Mediterranean business ecosystem.
