ASCAME Cross-Sectorial Strategy Committee - Towards an Action Plan on Transport & Logistics 2019
As part of the EBSOMED project, ASCAME and its affiliates will produce a strategic paper on Transport & Logistics in the Mediterranean region guided and supervised by a Cross-Sectorial Strategy Committee "Towards an Action Plan on Transport & Logistics 2019" in Barcelona, Spain, on 27 June 2019. The T&L sector is recognised as a key area for successful trade integration and economic development, taking a major role in the new economy and a sustainable growth.
Different T&L experts from different countries will give input on these subjects with the objective to get an overview of the state of the art of the sector in their different Mediterranean countries, highlight existing challenges and opportunities and proposing ways to move forward in the sector.
The Cross-Sectorial Strategy Committee will give feedback on the document and will discuss the results during a meeting open to EBSOMED beneficiary participants, which will guide the finalisation of the document.
The final document will build on the Regional Transport Action Plan for the Mediterranean Region (RTAP) 2014 – 2020 by the EuroMed Transport Forum, following the Priority Guidelines: 2013 identified at the UfM Ministerial Conference on Transport and capitalise the conclusions from previous Invest in Med and EUROMED Invest strategic papers.
The objectives of this Commitee are to:
- Create a strategy and orientation regarding Transport & Logistics
- Determine the strategic lines of action within these sectors, which will later form the framework for new European initiatives and policies
- Capitalise on previous strategic papers
- Highlight points about existing and future business opportunities between both North and South shores of the Mediterranean
